Apostolate

Living LIT Apostolate

The Living LIT Apostolate is dedicated to sharing God’s love in concrete and meaningful ways. It includes ministries and initiatives that reach out to families, parishes, and communities, creating opportunities to Live In Truth.
What is an apostolate:
Apostolate: comes from the Greek word apostoloi meaning “sent”. It refers to Christ’s call to his disciples to continue his own mission: proclaiming the kingdom of God throughout the world.

Laity have a different role, namely to spread the Truth of Christianity in the world through whatever means they can-this is properly called an Apostolate. Our mission is to spread the gospel and light of Jesus Christ & Catholicism in the world.
How the Lord invited me/us into Living LIT……

Divine 9 LIVING LIT

“Divine 9 Living Lit” is our family ministry, named affectionately by our kids! Divine 9 is our family identity.

Back when we had just six kiddos, we were Spike & Robyn and the “Six Pack.” It was a fun and clever way to sign in at weddings, graduations, and parties, as well as on family cards.

When we were expecting Baby #7, I realized, “Oh no, we need a new family name!” Around that time, while at a graduation party, our sweet niece asked if we had thought of a new name for the family. That sparked some brainstorming:

Living LIT born

How “Living LIT” Was Born

Years ago, I was invited to speak at a Catholic Women’s Conference about Liturgical Living in the Home. The organizers asked for a title to publish in the event schedule. So, during a family meal one night around the dinner table, our table talk turned into a brainstorming session with the whole family of what a catchy name for my talk would be.....

At that time, teenagers often used the word “LIT” to describe something fun, exciting, or cool. Our kids (using that word in their vocabulary a lot back then) connected the dots and came up with “Living LIT” –which was short for “liturgical” and it was basically sharing how we “Live Liturgically” along with the “LIT” meaning super cool and fun.  How we lived the faith together was “totally LIT” and ever since then it has stuck.  It was a title used for some of the talks I would give about Living Liturgically, and we started to refer to how we lived then as  “Living LIT”,  at the same time we became known as the family that “Lived LIT”….   Little did we know those years ago-how God had bigger plans with “Living LIT!”

Eventually God invited us into a more formal ministry that grew into our family’s ministry identity: Divine 9 Living LIT—a reflection of our faith, passion, and mission to live and share the joy of liturgical life.  With the official forming of the apostolate-God made it very clear to us that He wanted the name to be: Living LIT.  Little did we know all those years ago, that God had bigger plans for Living LIT! He has been leading the way!

We would love for you to join is on the journey to Living a Life that is totally LIT!

Living LIT Apostolate Core Values

1. Truth-Centered Living

We believe in living by the Truth of the Catholic Faith—revealed through Scripture, safeguarded by the Church, and incarnate in Jesus Christ. Every teaching, retreat, podcast, and product aims to point hearts back to the eternal Truth.

2. Liturgical Living

We root family life in the rhythm of the Church calendar, allowing the liturgy to shape our days, weeks, and seasons. The Church year is not just observed—it is lived in our homes, hearts, and habits.

3. Eucharistic Reverence

The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith—and our apostolate. We promote a spirit of reverence, awe, and joy in approaching the Sacraments, especially the Holy Mass.

4. Domestic Church Living

We believe every home is a “little church” where saints are raised, prayers are learned, and vocations are nurtured. Our goal is to equip and encourage families to claim this identity with confidence, beauty, and grace.

5. Contagious Joy

The Gospel and Faith are meant to be shared! We spread the spark of faith with a spirit of hope, encouragement and joy, inviting others to “catch the light” and Live Lit.

6. Mission-Minded Motherhood & Fatherhood

Parents are the primary educators of the faith. We support their mission with tools, encouragement, and formation to raise up a generation of faithful, joyful, truth-filled disciples.

7. Rooted Beauty

We celebrate the sacred in the simple and the beautiful in the ordinary. From feast day tables to Sunday Best, our work elevates beauty as a pathway to encountering the Divine.

8. Holy Boldness

We are not afraid to be light in the darkness. With humility and courage, we speak the truth in love, evangelize with joy, and remain faithful to Christ and His Church in every season.
