About livinglit

What Is Living LIT?

Living LIT is more than a name—it is a way of life rooted in the richness of Christian Scripture & Tradition, the power of prayer, and the Liturgy.

The Mission of Living LIT

At Living LIT, our mission is simple and deeply rooted in the heart of the Catholic faith:
to help families live their faith intentionally within the Domestic Church of the home-the Little Church You call Home.

The name LIT reflects the core of this mission.

LIT means:

Living In Truth (L-I-T)
Rooted in the teachings of Christ and His Church, we seek to live faithfully and authentically according to the Truth that sets us free.

Liturgical Living (Living LITurgically)
We embrace the rhythm of the Church year—walking through the seasons, feast days, and celebrations that draw us deeper into the life of Christ.

Living in and with the Light of Christ (Living LIT!)
When Christ is welcomed into the center of our homes and hearts, His Light transforms how we live, love, celebrate, and serve.

At Living LIT, we believe the faith is not meant to remain within church walls. It is meant to be lived daily in the home—around kitchen tables, in bedtime prayers, through family traditions, and in the ordinary moments of life.

Through the podcast, resources, gatherings, collaborations, and encouragement, Living LIT seeks to accompany families in building strong, joyful homes rooted in Christ.

Because when faith takes root in the home,
families flourish,
the Church grows stronger,
and the light of Christ spreads outward into the world.

It all begins in the little church you call home.

Behind the phrase, “For the little church you call home.”

For the Little Church you call home

At the heart of Living LIT is a simple but powerful truth:
your home matters deeply to God.

The Church has long taught that the family is the Domestic Church—the first place where faith is lived, witnessed, and passed on. Long before a child understands theology, they encounter God in the rhythms of family life: in prayer at the table, in forgiveness after mistakes, in the celebration of feast days, in the quiet witness of parents striving to love Christ.

Saint John Chrysostom once said:

“For indeed every home is a little church.”

Those words capture the heart of the Living LIT mission and inspired our tagline:

“For the Little Church You Call Home.”

Your home—however ordinary or imperfect it may feel—is meant to be a sacred place where Christ is welcomed, where faith is practiced in daily life, and where hearts are formed for heaven. The kitchen table can become an altar of gratitude. The living room can become a place of prayer. The calendar can become a pathway through the liturgical year. The ordinary moments of family life can become opportunities for grace.

At Living LIT, we believe that living the Catholic faith is not meant to be confined to Sunday Mass alone—though the Eucharist remains the center of everything. Instead, the faith is meant to overflow from the Church into the home, shaping how we live, celebrate, pray, and love together.

That is what Living LIT is here to support.

Through the podcast, resources, speaking events, and collaborations, this apostolate exists to encourage and accompany families as they build, nurture, and protect the little church they call home. It is about helping families Live in Truth, embrace the rhythms of the liturgical year, and allow the Light of Christ to illuminate their hearts and homes.

When even one home begins to live with that spark of faith, the light grows.
When many homes begin living this way, that light spreads.

And that is how the world begins to change—
one little church home at a time.

Living in the Truth

Guiding Families in Faith

Parents: The Primary Educators of the Faith

At Living LIT, we believe that one of the most beautiful and transformative truths of our Catholic faith is this: Parents are the primary educators of their children in the Faith.

For many years, my husband and I were faithful Catholics—we attended Mass, we said grace before meals, we enrolled our children in religious education classes. But something was missing. Our faith was present in our lives, but it wasn’t the living, breathing heart of our home.

Then we stumbled upon this teaching of the Church: that it’s not just the parish, the school, or the priest’s role—it’s ours. As parents, we are the first and most influential witnesses of faith to our children. Our home is meant to be the first church, the first school, the first seminary, the first monastery our children ever experience.

This truth changed everything.

When we embraced our role as the primary educators and transmitters of the Faith, our family culture shifted dramatically. Our home became more intentional, more joyful, more rooted in prayer and tradition. Faith stopped being something we checked off the list and started becoming the rhythm of our days and the heart of our family culture.

We began to live more liturgically—not perfectly, but more aware, more attentive, more in tune with the seasons of the Church and the sacredness of our ordinary days. Sunday became a true day of rest and celebration. The saints became our friends. Scripture became our conversation. The Eucharist became the center.

Most importantly, our own faith deepened and grew alongside our children’s. What started as a responsibility became a gift, not just to them—but to us.

Living LIT exists to help other families make this same discovery.
To help you claim the beautiful, God-given role you have as the primary educator of your children’s faith. To remind you that your home is holy ground, your family is your first mission field, and your yes to this calling can transform not just your children—but your own heart, your marriage, and your legacy of faith.

Welcome to Living LIT—where we help you live your faith, light your home, and lead your family to Him with Truth and Light for the Little Church you call Home.
